More to worry about than a walk to the mailbox

I find it hard to believe that recent letter writer J. Maureen Fowles is so troubled by not having home delivery service for her mail.

I have lived in Canada since 1967. Over 40 years in Alberta and approximately 16 years on this beautiful Island and I have always picked up my mail at a Canada Post box and have never found the walk to the mailbox irksome.

We live in a condominium which is not gated. I feel that our mailboxes are very well constructed and if someone wanted to break into one of the boxes here, which I don’t think would be an easy task, how do they know which box has anything worth stealing in it? We do not receive any cheques in the mail and do most of our banking online.

One last thought: this world is in such turmoil that I have a lot more to think about than the walk to the mailbox.
