Someone is trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I have lived right on the corner of this intersection for 24 years and never once have I had to sweep up broken glass or debris from an accident.
The reason we have infrequent accidents is simply due to bad drivers. It has nothing to do with the roads, especially since the turn lane was put in and the speed limit has been reduced to 60 km-h.
