Oops, Nanoose paving goof

I was overjoyed to finally see a crumbling stretch of the road just before Craig Bay being repaired.

As a daily user of Northwest Bay Road driving into Parksville, I was overjoyed to finally see a crumbling stretch of the road just before Craig Bay being repaired.

The joy was short. Due to the inexplicable workings of municipal and regional government, it was decided to end repair work exactly at the boundary between Parksville and Nanoose Bay, actually leaving the worst 50 metres of road unrepaired.

These are not two different countries: both Parksville and Nanoose are in the RDN.

This should have been co-ordinated with a single phone call. But I guess someone was out to lunch.

What a waste of taxpayer’s money. It’s so sad, its almost funny.

Now, for the remaining 50 metres, another work crew, along with all the equipment, has to be hauled in expensively, another bumpy joint in the road surface has to be created.

I would urge you to cast some media attention onto this incompetence of our well-paid municipal and regional governments.
