I want to thank editor John Harding for his editorial on Tuesday about the Parksville Beach Resort.
I think that a vote of thanks is required for the work Harding does on behalf of the citizens of Parksville Qualicum Beach. Most of us don’t have the time or knowledge to keep abreast of the important issues facing our communities and indirectly, ourselves.
The Beach resort has been a loss of revenue and an eyesore for far too long, surely a compromise could be worked out between the owners and city hall. Even another Beach Club would be progress.
I am tempted to suggest a continental style campground like the ones I used to visit on the Mediterranean at Nice or the Cote d’ Azure. Wouldn’t that attract a few visitors!
We recently voted for the new water treatment project, yet little has been heard about progress.
I see massive new housing developments taking place all over Parksville and my own immaculate lawn is now a mess of moss and weeds after last year’s watering ban with another ban likely this year.
