I have owned property in Qualicum Beach for more than 36 years, and am well accustomed to paying my share of the town’s taxes.

Re: Pat Hadley’s letter to the editor (The NEWS, Nov. 6).

While property ownership is no longer a requirement for running for office (I’m running for council in Qualicum Beach), I have owned property in Qualicum Beach for more than 36 years, and am well accustomed to paying my share of the town’s taxes.

And, finally, while I count Barry Avis as a friend, I do not share his political views. Is an apology from Hadley appropriate?
