I find it difficult to understand the motives behind Coun. Dave Willie’s irrational rant in response to the Qualicum Beach Resident Association’s request to defer the public hearing and third reading of the Clarion project ( The NEWS, May 2) .
This development is the first major departure from historic planning guidelines and merits careful scrutiny.
To label the members of QBRA as puppets of Mayor Teunis Westbroek and Coun. Scott Tanner is an attempt by Willie to validate his views by denigrating the legitimate concerns of others.
