The Zero Waste initiative in my opinion seems to be working well, with numerous items that would otherwise go to the landfill being recycled.
However, by getting more co-operation from coffee shops and restaurants, this will go a step further.
Many paper coffee cups, paper plates and plastic coffee lids are not being properly recycled. They just end up in our garbage and the landfill.
With tourist season fast approaching, the quantity of these items going into the landfill will skyrocket over the summer period.
It’s time for all of us to do our part and ensure that these items are recycled.
