I write this letter to express my heart felt dismay at the illness of Mr. Jack Layton.
First let me say that I am not an NDP member and have never voted for an NDP candidate. It is just too seldom we get a political figure that transcends all party boundaries. Jack is such a man.
Jack gives you the deep down feeling that he is, if you will pardon the word, honest!
In the many years I can remember, Jack is in a very select group of men and women that carry the same “work ethic” that he displays.
We all must wonder why there are not many that we can point to that have the love and respect that this man gets.
We don’t need to “wonder”, he earned it!
Although I may lean a little to the left, there are still a few things that Jack and I might not agree on. But I will forever respect and honour Jack as a true and sincere Canadian politician and I wish him a very speedy recovery and we will need his views, possibly more now than at any time in the recent past.
