RV parking an issue

This was seen by me as a dereliction of duty by a previous Parksville city council.

Re: RVs vs eyesores, a letter to the editor in the Sept. 10 edition of The NEWS.

This comparing navel oranges vs Moroccan mandarins must surely be coincidental in this edition.

Having purchased our home from a local builder in the previous century, due diligence was very much part of the process. No arms were twisted, no truths were bent to close the negotiations successfully.

The scariest part were the revelations; the covenants in place. Providing a print copy was the seller’s obligation. It was readily met and recommended that I do read it.

The salient point was that no existing authority was in place to enforce these covenants in the near future, with no likelihood that a body with bite would ever see the light of day to enforce adherence.

This was seen by me as a dereliction of duty by a previous Parksville city council.

Surely in a city of Parksville’s size, different levels of enforcement of reasonable obligations, in place elsewhere locally, ought not to exist, nor even tolerated.

Parksville’s Jim Sheppard, rather than Brad Parent from Coombs, (both recent letter writers) is right on the mark on this issue locally.
