Just a note to say thanks to Joan LeMoine for all the work that she has done, not only for the Parksville Beach Festival, but in all her many arenas of community participation.
When a small group got together, breathed deeply and started the process of resuscitating the PBF after the riot of 1997, none were more determined, committed and fearless than Joan and her late husband Jim. With their indispensable help, the festival made it through its first tentative comeback year. Her presence and good humour made the effort seem just that much less like work.
Joan is of that elite class of people that just always show up. Congratulations Joan and well done.
