Thundering trucks

We like Parksville in many ways, but the noise of pick-up trucks and motorcycles is too much. As you enter the city via Church Road, there is a sign that loud noise will not be tolerated, but there is no evidence this is enforced.

Most every night between 9:30-11 p.m., there are three-five vehicles thundering along the highway, McMillan or Morrison avenues. We hear vehicles during the day and have been woken by this.

The NEWS should use this question in one of its editions, the part of the paper where four people are asked about an issue of the day: ‘Are you bothered by the loud muffler noise of some pick-up trucks and or motorcycles that use our roadways?’

I will be going to see and speak with the police one day soon regarding the unnecessarily loud pick-up trucks and motorcycles.

These vehicles engines/mufflers are not only loud but some add a spinning and grinding of their tires on the pavement to created even more noise. This is blatantly disturbing the peace of our community and I wonder why it seems to be tolerated here in Parksville.
