Tidal Treasures not on private property

Tidal Treasures: possibly you have heard or read about it

Tidal Treasures: possibly you have heard or read about it. Well, as a board member of the Oceanside Community Arts Council (bet you didn’t even know that you had one of those), I proposed that we undertake a project that would bring more ‘art’ to the community and bring more tourists to Oceanside in the off season.

Our Float Fairies are secretly flitting about each month hiding artist handmade glass floats and other fused glass sea creatures along the public shoreline of designated Oceanside beaches from Deep Bay to Nanoose Bay. They are making sure that the environmentally sensitive areas are not used for the Tidal Treasure hunt and are placed only above the high tide mark and never on private property.

The Tidal Treasures committee is very hopeful that this adventure is a fun experience for the whole family, come rain or shine, and that the finders are the keepers. Also, we ask that treasure hunters respect all environments and private property. Local businesses wholeheartedly support Tidal Treasures through financial support and through gift cards for their business.

Tidal Treasures is a non-profit project. We want to enhance winter visitors’ experience while visiting our Oceanside communities and finding a treasure and maybe winning a prize will bring them back to spend more time and hopefully money in our community.
