The action on the gridiron field was hot and heavy in Parksville on Friday as the Ballenas Secondary School Senior Whalers and the Junior Whalers football teams got geared up and trained hard for the upcoming season — running patterns, blocking, kicking and passing.
The first competitive action tor the Ballenas squad will be an exhibition game against Nanaimo District Secondary School’s Islanders, slated to be held on Friday, Sept. 9.
