Former Parksville Royals standout Tim Holyk was a big hit in the season-opening games for the Miles Community College Pioneers in Montana.
The third baseman sparked the Pioneers offence, racking up four home runs in National Junior College Athletic Association Division II action. He stood out on defence and offence in the Pioneers first four games of the season on Feb 19-20.
In Game 2 of their series against the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen, Holyk had a couple of hits, including a two-run homer in the seventh. In Game 3, Holyk went 2-for-4 with double and a big fly.

Holyk recorded his third home run in the third inning of Game 4. He launched a three-run blast to put the Pioneers up 3-0. After the Plainsmen tied things in the fourth. Holyk came up again with two men aboard in the fifth and mashed his second three-run shot of the game for his fourth of the weekend.
Holyk, who played for the Royals in 2019, finished the weekend with 10 RBIs.
This summer he will suit up for the Nanaimo NightOwls on the West Coast League baseball circuit, where he will get reacquainted with three other former Parksville Royals players – Josh Laukkanen, Seth Gurr, and Anson McGorman.
