Arrowsmith Ladies Golf Club completed its 2016 season with special recognitions and celebrations to commemorate the club’s 20th anniversary.

A special guest day was held in late July with many former members in attendance, including all but one of the former captains who have served since its inception in 1996.

The Ladies Club’s annual championship was held on Aug. 22, 23 and 25 at Arrowsmith Golf and Country Club in Qualicum Beach.

The tournament was divided into three flights with winners declared in each flight as well as overall winners in low gross and low net categories. Medissa Morrow was the overall low gross winner and Chris Clemens was the overall low net winner.

Other winners in their individual flight are as follows:

Flight 1 – Low gross: Colleen Pierlot; low net: Diane Guerrier;

Flight 2 – Low gross: Sandie Harlow; low net: Barb Phillips; and

Flight 3 – Low gross: Arlene King; low net: Jacqui Johnson.

A special recognition was given at the club’s Annual General Meeting, where Rosemary Leface was presented the Zone 6 Volunteer of the Year Award. Rosemary was one of the original members of the Arrowsmith Golf Course and is one of the ladies responsible for setting up the ladies’ club.

Leface was credited with working tirelessly on a number of projects at both the Zone and club level and is very deserving of the special recognition.
