Oceanside Generals shut out Port Alberni Bombers for 10th straight win

Goaltender Matthew Hutchison made 22 saves in the win

The Oceanside Generals tallied another victory on Wednesday night for 10 wins in a row.

The Generals travelled to Port Alberni on Jan. 18 to face the Bombers and picked up a 6-0 shutout.

Tyson Pauze got things started for the Generals just 6:23 into the first period, then Tyler Gyori added a powerplay marker at 13:38. It was all Generals in the second and third periods, as Brendan Carlson and Carter Johnson each had two goals apiece.

Goaltender Matthew Hutchison saved all 22 shots that came his way.

The Generals will head down to Lake Cowichan on Friday to take on the Kraken and will return home on Saturday, Jan. 21 to host the Peninsula Panthers. This is a special “Hockey Day in Canada” game, where all minor hockey players wearing their team jersey will receive free admission and be entered to win a prize. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
