Oceanside U13 girls perfect at Island regional softball tournament

Team brings home gold medal for second year in a row

The Parksville U13 Rage posted another perfect weekend to clinch the gold medal at the U13C Softball BC Island Regional Championships held in Ladysmith.

The is the second year in row the Oceanside Minor Softball rep team went undefeated as they repeated as champions. There were 16 teams that include Central Saanich, Nanoose Bay, Carnarvon, Port Alberni, Ladysmith, Salt Spring, Sooke, Peninsula, Gordon Head, Langford, Nanaimo, Lakehill and Duncan.

Rage took on the host team Ladysmith Lighting with Ella Rose leading the charge on the mound, allowing five hits and four runs over three innings, while striking out seven to earn the 12-4 win. Annela Smith came in relief and closed out the game for the Rage, as they shut out the Lighting for the rest of the game.

Savana Tryon, Alyse Stevenson, Ella Rose, Milea Howell and Annela Smith each posted two hits on the day.

Team members include: Violet Kreschuk, Stevenson, Myah Cowan, Tryon, Howell, Smith, Teija Moulder, Rose, Amber Adams, Olivia Norder and Ayla Dukeshire.
