Registration for the 2022 55+BC Games, to be held in Victoria Sept. 13-17, is now open.
There are a myriad of opportunities to participate, support or volunteer at the popular senior multi-sport event, which is returning after it was cancelled twice in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.
The games celebrates healthy and active seniors and often attracts more than 4,000 participants. It will feature more than 30 different sports that include: 8-ball, archery, badminton, bocce, carpet bowling, cribbage, cycling (road), darts, dragon boating, equestrian, floor curling, golf, hockey, horseshoes, ice curling, lawn bowling, mountain biking, pickleball, slo-pitch, snooker, soccer, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field, triathlon and whist. There will two demonstration sports, rowing and 3-on-3 basketball.

Parksville Qualicum Beach is part of Zone 2 - Vancouver Island North that includes Bella Bella, Bella Coola, Black Creek, Bowser, Campbell River, Comox, Courtenay, Cumberland, Gabriola Island, Gold River, Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Port Hardy, Port McNeill, Powell River, Royston, Tahsis, Tofino, Ucluelet and adjacent islands.
The deadline to register for Zone 2 is June 1 with pending playdowns.
