The local PBL team was thumped 7-1 in their tournament opener against the Okanagan A's last Friday, but this is no ordinary Royals' team, as they answered with four straight well-earned wins to end the drought.

On Sunday the pinstripes hammered out a 4-0 win over the defending tournament Okotoks Dawgs. On Monday they beat the Victoria Mariners 6-4 in the early playoff game, then knocked the hide off the ball and blasted the Nanaimo Pirates 13-4 in the gold medal game.
