UBC’s Kevin Biro has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
Biro, a junior from Deep Bay, was the offensive leader for UBC as the Thunderbirds completed a four-game road sweep of Concordia in Portland, Ore.
UBC improved to 13-5 on the season and 6-2 in NAIA West play. The team is tied for first in the NAIA West standings with Lewis-Clark State.
Biro went 11-for-21 at the plate over the weekend, driving in six runs and scoring four more. His seven at-bats in the series finale tied a UBC school record for most plate appearances in one game.
Biro has been lighting it up at the plate so far this season for the T-Birds, leading the team in hitting average (.410), hits (32) and RBI (16).
