“That’s it, that’s it — keep working the jab ... you’re doing great,” he bellowed from the corner above the sounds of young boxers busy training hard.
“They’re doing awesome — they’re working their tails off,” Genesis Boxing and Fitness head trainer Rick Rae surmised with a big smile recently when The News stopped in to see how his young stable is progressing in their build-up for the BC Bronze Gloves slated for Oceanside Place in May.
The local club with a social conscience will be hosting its’ second public sparring session this Saturday (April 30) from 10 a.m. — 5 p.m.
“If they like the first one they’re going to love this one,” Rae beamed.
Admission is by suggested donation of $20 for adults, $10 for teens and $5 for kids, with a portion of all money raised to be donated to the local food bank and MS.
