VIJHL Oceanside Generals power past Westshore Wolves 5-3

Dyce paces Generals with two goals

Evan Dyce scored twice, leading the Save-On-Foods Oceanside Generals to a 5-3 win over the Westshore Wolves in Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League action Wednesday at the Q Centre.

It was the second consecutive win for the Generals, who play back-to-back home games at Oceanside Place against the Comox Valley Glacier Kings on Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17 in a rematch with Westshore. Both games start at 7:15 p.m.

The Generals got off to a flying start against the Wolves as they scored two early goals, from Nolan Kehoe and Miles Carson. But the Wolves stormed back with two late goals to end the period tied at 2-2.

In the second period, Generals regained their two-goal lead when Dyce scored a power-play goal at 1:45 and followed it up with another marker at 13:38. Aidan Cook made it 5-2 at the 15:53 mark. The Generals took a penalty late in the game and paid for it as the Wolves scored to cut their lead to just two points.
