Oceanside RCMP officers and staff were in the spirit of giving as they delivered Christmas hampers to families in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area.

This is the seventh year the Oceanside RCMP detachment has filled and delivered hampers. This year, eight families and 19 children received food, clothing, toys and gift cards.

The detachment were able to fill the hampers through fundraising events they held during the year, private donations and the generosity of local sponsors such as Save On Foods, Quality Foods, Thrifty Foods, Boston Pizza, Red Apple Stores and Loonyrama Plus.

The hampers would not have been made possible without the support of local businesses, Oceanside RCMP Victim Services, Arrowsmith Restorative Justice and the officers and staff of Oceanside RCMP, said Staff Sergeant Travis De Coene, detachment commander of the Oceanside RCMP. Our detachment looks forward to this every year and thanks everyone who make this possible for families in our community.
