It might not be the Calgary Stampede, but the residents at the Gardens at Qualicum Beach know how to celebrate the Wild West … Vancouver Island-style!

The seniors’ residence recently hosted a Scooter Rodeo, complete with a delicious, Western-inspired lunch of ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and fresh-baked cornbread crafted by the talented kitchen team.

The Gardens’ back entrance was transformed into an entertainment area with country music courtesy of “Sax Appeal,” while the residents enjoyed a little friendly competition in a variety of rodeo-themed challenges.

“The residents really look forward to exploring a different theme each month, whether it’s a rodeo, an internationally inspired wine tasting evening with food pairings, or high tea at a spring garden party,” says Billy Jolicoeur, Community Relations Manager at the Gardens at Qualicum Beach. “Everyone loves the opportunity to have a little fun, sample some delicious food from our chefs, and connect with staff and friends.”

Welcome home to the Gardens

Of course, the engaging events are just one reason residents love calling the welcoming community home.

Boasting a resident-focused philosophy and a continuity of care, residents can choose from privately owned condominiums or Independent Living Suites ranging from studios to two-bedroom suites.

If partners have different care needs, or if residents’ needs change, assisted living suites and long-term care are also available on-site – you can stay in the community you know and love and still receive the level of care you need. Peace of mind comes from knowing that if needed, assistance is available, including laundry and housekeeping and a 24-hour nurse on call in case of emergencies.

Feeding body, mind and spirit, all meals are prepared in-house from the freshest ingredients by the team of chefs, while the Gardens’ vibrant, accessible location, beautifully landscaped grounds and variety of activities allow you to stay as busy and engaged as you want to be.
