Coun. Anne Skipsey presented a notice of motion during a committee of a whole meeting on April 17 to provide a $2,000 sponsorship for the event.
“The idea is that the funds that have been requested would be used to provide each delegate with a locally made reusable cotton bag printed with the Town of Qualicum Beach and art by a local artist,” said Skipsey. “And in that way, it would be a great way to promote and support our town and the community.”
The motion will be presented council at its next regular meeting for consideration.
