Dashwood fire crews get early morning call as RV goes up in flames near Qualicum Beach

Vehicle was unoccupied and no injuries were reported

The Dashwood Volunteer Fire Department responded to an early-morning fire on Thursday (Oct. 14) involving a recreational vehicle located at 3300 block of Highway 19A near Laburnum Road in Qualicum Beach.

Dashwood Fire Chief Nick Acciavatti said a call came in at 5:30 a.m. and when crews arrived at the scene, the RV was already fully involved.

They brought in two engines, one water tender and a rescue truck. Mutual aid was also requested from the Qualicum Beach Fire Department and Cooobs-Hilliers Fire Department, with each bringing one engine.

Acciavatti said the RV was unoccupied and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
