The Oceanside RCMP seeks witnesses or any dashcam footage of a vehicle collision at the intersection of Horne Lake Road and Highway 19.

The incident happened on Wednesday (Sept. 22) at approximately 1:15 p.m, involving two pickup trucks.

Oceanside RCMP attended the incident and their investigation indicated a blue Ford pickup truck, driven by a 79-year-old Bowser man, proceeded into the intersection, cutting off a GMC pickup truck that was travelling south.

The driver of the Ford was taken to hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries while the 41-year-old Campbell River man driving the GMC was uninjured.

BC Emergency Health Services were at the scene and Bow Horn Bay Fire Department crews also provided assistance. Traffic was disrupted as the flow was restricted to just one lane in each direction.

Police are still investigating the incident and charges under the Motor Vehicle Act are expected. According to police, impairment and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash cam footage of the incident is asked to contact police at 250-248-6111 citing police file 2021-10261.
