Regional District of Nanaimo declares 2022 election winners official

Directors to be sworn in Nov. 8

As of Oct. 19, Regional District of Nanaimo’s chief election officer, Jacquie Hill, has declared the winners for the office of director officially elected.

They are:

Jessica Stanley, Electoral Area A (Cedar, South Wellington, Yellowpoint, Cassidy)

Lauren Melanson, Electoral Area C (Extension, Nanaimo Lakes, East Wellington, Pleasant Valley)

Leanne Salter, Electoral Area F (Coombs, Hilliers, Errington, Whiskey Creek, Meadowood)

Lehann Wallace, Electoral Area G (Englishman River, San Pareil, French Creek, Little Qualicum, Dashwood)

The following candidates have been elected by acclamation:

Vanessa Craig, Electoral Area B (Gabriola, DeCourcy, Mudge Islands)

Bob Rogers, Electoral Area E (Nanoose Bay)

Stuart McLean, Electoral Area H (Bowser, Qualicum Bay, Deep Bay)

The 2022-26 directors will be officially sworn in at the inaugural RDN board meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. in the board chambers at 6300 Hammond Bay Road, Nanaimo. The public are welcome to attend.
