Under the provisions of Section 224 of the Community Charter , City Council may, on or before October 31, exempt land, improvements or both, from municipal property taxes for the next calendar year subject to meeting certain requirements. In general, these requirements restrict exemption to non-profit organizations using the lands for specific non-profit purposes.
