The Quality Foods Oceanside Generals will take on the Campbell River Storm in the best-of-seven Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League North Division final.

The league-leading Storm were stretched to seven games in the playoffs by the first-year Port Alberni Bombers. They earned their spot in the final when the scored a 4-1 win in Game 7 on March 8.

The Generals also needed seven games to eliminate the Comox Valley Glacier Kings.

The first game of the North Division final series will be on Friday, March 11, at the Rod Brind’Amour Arena. The teams finished one-two in the North Division in the regular season with the Storm leading the way with 40 wins, 4 losses and two overtime losses. The Generals were second with a 33-14-1-1 record.

The head-to-head matchup between the two shows gives the Storm the edge as they have won three of their five encounters during the regular season. They match up pretty well as both like to play a strong forechecking game. Defence will be key in the series.

The Generals will host the Storm on Saturday, March 12 at Oceanside Place at 7 p.m.
