Tennis club lines up full slate of activities in Parksville Qualicum Beach

Arroswmith Tennis Club has more than 100 members

The Arrowsmith Tennis Club is looking forward to full slate of activities this season.

Athough the wet weather conditions have dampened the start of spring tennis, the club has managed to have more than 1oo members renew their membership as well gain some newcomers.

The first round robin of the season is slated to start on May 7 at Springwood Park tennis courts. Participants are asked to arrive early at 8:45 to register with play slated to start at 9 a.m. There will be some refreshments provided. The event is free of charge to all members.

The club has lined up a number of activities this summer. It will hold ball machine practice every Tuesday at Springwood from 10 a.m. to noon, while tennis practice is every Thursday at Qualicum Beach from 9 a.m. to noon.

Novice tennis takes place every Thursday at Springwood from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and every Saturday at Qualicum Beach tennis courts from 9 a.m. to noon.

Social tennis is held every Tuesdays at Qualicum Beach from 9 a.m. to noon.

The popular 2.5/4+ doubles ladder will again be held every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. Those wishing to join can call Terry Stewart at 250-203-0448.
