The Quality Foods Oceanside Generals are a win away from reaching the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League’s playoff final series.

The Generals took a commanding 3-0 lead in their best-of-seven North Division final series, after beating the Campbell Storm 5-2 in Game 3 at the Rod Brind’Amour Arena on Tuesday night (March 15).

The General can wrap up series in Game 4 Thursday night, March 17, at Oceanside Place. Game time is 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Generals jumped to a 5-0 lead (with three in the first and two in the second) and cruised to the win.

The Generals defence played well to shut down the Storm in the first two periods. Goalie Ashton Sadauskas was also sharp, turning aside 26 of the 28 shots he faced.

In the South Division, the Peninsula Panthers are also a win away from advancing to the VIJHL final, after taking a 3-1 lead in their best-of-seven series against the Kerry Park Islanders. Game 4 will be played on Friday.
