At a social gathering last week I encountered several people who lamented that because they don’t have Twitter or Facebook accounts, they could not respond to the Question of the week, which asks if the E&N railway should be converted into a trail system.

Just recently, on two different occasions, I was questioned about my political inclinations because of an orange T-shirt I wore one day, and a green jacket I had been wearing on another day.

I was appalled to read the remarks attributed to former ICF chair, Jack Peake, in which he castigates anyone not sharing his vision of a restored (E&N) rail service on the island as “lacking in vision.”

I am writing because of an apparent lack of resources assigned to the Health Ministry to correct a huge problem in this province.

I have noticed a widespread ailment in the area of Parksville that I reside in. Approximately nine out of ten people seem unable to bend over at the waist.

My concern for the future of British Columbia and the quality of life for its citizens is the maintenance and perhaps improvement of the environment. During the leaders’ debate on April 26, only passing mention was made of the environment.

I received a call from 120-693-9590. The caller claimed to be from Visa security. He said someone was trying to transfer $600 from my Visa to a Western Union office in Turkey. He said looking at my transaction history he could see that I have never transferred money to Western Union.

I booked a vacation rental property through a popular virtual platform website. To my surprise, within 24 hours, the price dropped by $50 per night for the same time period.

As May 9 approaches, the popular ‘spin’ by some parties would have us believe that electoral reform is not a priority issue for B.C. voters. Meanwhile anger, dissent and hatred continues to skyrocket world-wide. We see ever more clearly that no government really acts in the best interests of its regular citizens.
